Get Involved

Cycle Bath needs you!

We need FIVE minutes of your time per month. This small amount of time can actually make a massive difference.

Cycle Bath as an organisation can make as much noise as we want. We can negotiate with BANES council and we can get all angry, even frothing at the mouth, BUT in the eyes of the councillors, we’re just one rather noisy interest group.

This is where you come in. We need you to be emailing your local councillors. We need you to tell them that cycling is important. We need you to make them care about cycling.

It is through the emails you send to your councillors demanding better cycle infrastructure provision, that changes the amount of money allocated to cycling.

It is through your emails that the planning office will be forced to consider better cycling infrastructure as part of any new developments.

It is because of you that your councillors will begin to care about cycle provisioning in BANES. It is through the councillors that the council will change and begin to deliver good quality cycle infrastructure.

Ok how do I get started?

Simply subscribe to our site (on the right). This way you find out about new posts on the website. In particular you will find out about “Call to Action” posts. These are posts that explain a problem and then asks you to write to your councillors (or even directly to your MP).

Check out our Call to Action page for examples of what we ask of people. If you like one of the CtA’s go ahead and email your councillor about it!

I want to be more involved!

Cycle Bath has a monthly meeting on the 3rd Sunday of every month. We also attend the BANES Cycle Forum which happens every odd month on the 2nd Tuesday. You are welcome to attend these!

Our calendar also provides a list of upcoming events. Including Sustrans volunteer parties if you fancy getting your hands dirty.

Of course, you are more than welcome to author a post on the site. 🙂
